Did anyone notice a quiet week back at the beginning of November? Well, that will be because Well-Fit's Fran zipped over to Argentina to take on the Total Wipeout challenge..apparently she was pretty amazing but don't take our word for it, it's on our screens in a few weeks - here is a taster of what you will see.
TOTAL WIPEOUT BOUNCES BACK ONTO THE NATION’S SCREENS IN JANUARY
New series for BBC One starts on Saturday 8th January
Viewers are in for a treat this January as TV’s craziest game show is back and this series sees 160 courageous, some would say foolhardy, Brits take on the infamous Total Wipeout obstacle course, in an attempt to bag themselves the big cash prize and the coveted, shiny trophy.
Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram are once again at the helm, poised to answer the searching questions on every viewer’s lips; important, deep, life-changing questions such as “how on earth is he going to get out of that mud pit?” and “will anyone manage to cross those Big Red Balls?”
Just what would possess a batch of everyday Brits to take on the extreme, silly course? With a grand prize of £10,000 and the prestigious title of “Total Wipeout Champion” up for grabs, these madcap punters will put fear and pride to one side. In each show, just one person will return victorious, with the remainder returning back to Blighty with nothing more than a bruised ego and some rope burns.
Series 4 sees the return of some of the audience’s favourite obstacles – the eternally funny and unmissable “Big Red Balls”, “Rake in the Face”, “Cradles of Doom” and “Crash Mountain”, as well as the iconic “Sucker Punch” and the “Wipeout Zone”. Expect wipeouts galore, as these battered and bruised folk test their stamina, bravery and skill against the almighty Total Wipeout course.
With witty and entertaining, tongue-in-cheek commentary from Richard, and Amanda’s continuous support and giggles from the sidelines, it’s non-stop action and laughter as the contestants bounce, splash and crash their way through the course.
From the beautiful Buenos Aires in Argentina, the 20 hopefuls must battle it out in the Qualifier, with the 12 fastest advancing to the next round where they must tackle the almighty “Crash Mountain”.
The lucky few who make it past “Crash Mountain” must conquer the gruelling “Dizzy Dummies” in order to secure their place in the finale, where they will come face-to-face with the ultimate obstacle course, “The Wipeout Zone”.
The three finalists from each show in this series get the opportunity to do battle once again on the Total Wipeout course in “Total Wipeout – The Final”, seeking the greatest accolade of all: to be crowned the Total Wipeout Series Champion!
